Yoga Sculpt and Restore

Wellness
This class will pull from the styles of vinyasa, yoga sculpt, and yin. We will start off class by moving through some sun salutations, warming up the body while simultaneously marrying the breath to the movement. We will then transition to sculpt work, which is about 15 minutes of HIIT style toning, while incorporating traditional yoga poses. We will seal off the class by working in some Yin yoga, holding restorative poses for extended periods of time. This work massages the connective tissue of the body, with the aim of increasing circulation within the joints, and improving flexibility. By the end of this class, you will feel accomplished, relaxed, and rejuvenated!
Level: Intermediate but all levels welcome!
What You'll Need (3): Yoga mat, 3-5 pound weights, feel free to also bring a small pillow or folded blanket to use during restorative postures.
Tip: Come prepared to sweat! If you don't have weights, get creative! You can use cans of soup, water bottles or even wine bottles!

Kendall Chaffee-Standish
Kendall has been living in New York City for 15 years, and teaching yoga throughout the city for ten of those years. Certified through the Yoga Alliance, she specializes in teaching Vinyasa, Yoga Sculpt, and Yin Yoga. Her classes are fluid in movement, and just the right balance between challenging and restorative. She teaches her students to work hard whenever they can, but also to recognize that taking breaks is of equal importance. She encourages students to reflect honestly on what’s going on internally, and to sweat/breathe out whatever isn’t serving them anymore.
